my travels thus far

i have been away from home for nearly a week. I have my nose to the grindstone trying to find a new j-o-b, but i am also taking time out to enjoy myself and visit:).

Here are some of the highlights:
Poonam lives right around the corner from Hotel Roosevelt. It was fun to walk by and see all of the tourists waiting outside in their tightest most LA dresses, trying to get in;).
I took some photo's after a few bottles of wine late monday night:). The first is of P infront of her plce, the second of all the bikes outside her apt by the pool. Her apt is very Melrose Place! two stories with pool in the center. I am sure a bunch of LA places are just like it, but i thought it was pretty cool :).i finally make it to San Diego, where i surprise my cousin and aunt with a bunch of free shoes! Brandon was more excited about the box the shoes came in than the three pairs i brought him :).
and just LOOK at that face! He is so smart and cute! I can't believe how big he has gotten. I love his long hair, but i have a feeling his mom will cut it soon.

More to come! We carved pumpkins tonight, but i'll save that for my halloween post. I am gonna take "B" as i call him, trick or treating!

Interviewing for Success!

Well, as many of you know, as of friday, my company is no more ::sad sigh::, but i will go on and start interviewing for a new J-O-B. I don't want to relocate, but that may be in the cards as the bay area is swarming with people just like me; 1,100 to be exact. And I don't want to change industry's! Retail is my passion and if that means i have to move to Ft. Myers, FLA and work for :: HUGE GASP:: Chico's, I will do it( I have a phone interview with them tomorrow at 10).

I will not, however, ever say, "It was a Chico's kind of day."

So on to the real point of this post, what do i wear on my interviews?! For the last year we have been super casual here, only dressing up for vendor meetings and plan/forecast presentations. I feel a little lost in dressing business savvy...

Work has been crazy and looking around my cube, it shows.

Charm School

We all know reality TV is a huge guilty pleasure of mine! Nicole and i had a BLAST watching, "Rock of Love Charm School," with host Sharon Osbourne. I love Sharon! She reminds me of a much saucier version of my mom ;)

In addition to all of the drama, the cast members uniforms really caught my attention. The school girl look isn't anything novel; I mean, since B. Spears broke out it has been everywhere. However, Plaid is back and bigger than ever, so I found myself wishing for a charm school uniform of my own!

Boot Weather!

It is very chilly up here in nor-cal today! I have on my madden boots and a sweater dress and while at lunch i saw many a girl rockin' boots as well!

Here are some boots currently selling on our sales floor!

These are my personal favorites and I named one of them after my friend, Bridgette.

(I apologise for the bad photo's. I left my real camera at home so these were taken on my cell)

The first boot is the "Harmon." It's hard to see in the photo but it is purple suede. The next is "Hazel," which is such a cute casual bootie in brown suede. And last we have the "bridgette" black suede with a sweater shaft that can be rolled down as shown or scrunched. Love em!

Is john McCain making sense to anyone??? I love his avoidance tactics: throw Obama under the bus, make a light hearted joke, or the classic repeat the question and then answer vaguely, all while still throwing Obama under the bus.

His slow and unintelligent rhetoric won't phase me. Obama girl all the way.

Better off Dead...

This weekend was nice and relaxing! It started off with me getting a tad more than tipsy on friday night(okay i was DRUNK), but then pulling myself together on saturday to get my oil changed and run some other BORING errands. Later that night we headed out to Pomegranate for a delish dinner and then went back to M & B's new place for some drinks. Sunday was lazy, but I did get a blast from the past when i chaught the old 80's flick "Better off Dead" on the ABC family channel. Talk about falling in love with john cusack all over again! Not to mention really enjoying all of the girl characters outfits that i would actually wear right about now. Then i got my lazy butt up to go apartment hunting and I think I actually found a place!!! Lastly, I had a night cap over at Heather's.

What a weekend!
Seriously though, if you love john cusack and haven't seen "Better off Dead" RENT IT!

i-yi-yi. we just got used to the new members of our department, when our lead buyer up and leaves. Now we are just getting things back in full swing with a new lead buyer, when both of our planners have been moved to different departments and now we have two new planners...
change is the only constant...especially in retail

I am sure in a few months things will seem like home again...but they don't right now :(
